What he did: Roberson, a senior, led Plano to two big District 9-5A victories. He followed a 25-point performance in Tuesday's double-overtime win against Wylie with a 36-point outing Friday against Plano West. He averaged 30.5 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals for the week.
John Roberson leads Plano in scoring at 25.5 ppg. The stats: He entered the week averaging 25.5 points, 7.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds.
Who is he? Roberson, 18, is a 6-0 point guard for Plano (17-5, 3-2).
He said it: "It was pretty important for me and my team. I just got it going a little bit against Plano West. Everybody played hard, and we built a lot of confidence going into next week."
Coach said it: "More than anything, he did it when we needed him most. We'd been struggling going into that Plano West game. He had a real big performance, and we did a lot as a team." – Tom Inman
Did you know? Roberson made seven of 10 3-point attempts against Plano West. He made 15 of 16 free throws against Wylie. ... Roberson, who moved from Florida two seasons ago, helped Lake Howell High School make two Florida state tournament appearances. ...
