
'Cats maintain lead with win

PLANO - The Plano boys basketball team jumped out to a 34-17 halftime lead Friday and never let up despite late three-point shooting from The Colony.
The Wildcats held on for a 57-53 win at the Plano Activity Center gymnasium.
Plano (16-7, 6-1 in District 8-5A) remained in first place with the win and it is currently on a six-game winning streak. The Wildcats host Plano West at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the PAC gym.
Plano outscored The Colony, 20-9, in the first period and 14-8 in the second to take a commanding 34-17 lead at intermission. The Cougars cut into the lead with a 21-13 third period run to pull within nine, 47-38, heading into the final period.
The Colony outscored Plano, 15-10, in the fourth period, but it wasn't enough.
John Roberson scored a game-high 27 points and Eric Zastoupil added 10.
