The Plano junior varsity's hopes to steal the varsity championship in the 5th Annual North Texas Holiday Showcase tournament took a hit with a narrow loss Wednesday.
Plano fell to Little Elm, 45-44. The Wildcats responded to defeat Valliant, Okla., 93-31.
Russ Bouh registered 29 points in two games to lead Plano.
Plano will meet Decatur at 10:30 a.m. today in a fifth-place tournament game. It will be the third meeting in four tournament games against varsity opponents.
Because of an Oklahoma state high school rule, no team is allowed to play more than three games in a week without forfeiting a varsity district game. So, Valliant played its junior varsity against Plano and the Wildcats rolled behind a game-high 21 points from David Kunesh.
